Torch Relay

Yesterday I was lucky enough to get to see the Olympic Torch Relay as it passed through Derby. The crowds were great and we managed to get ourselves a really good spot at a point where the torch looped around so we got to see it twice :-). I'm very grateful for this (possibly) once in a lifetime opportunity.

Exploring

So I went for another walk as I'd been say all morning and barely moved. So I followed a path that was supposed to lead to a nearby village. Jonathan and I have never found it before but tipsy it seemed easy.

The weather was beautiful and it was all so peaceful. It must be walked a fair bit as it was clear and there were footprints; I never saw a soul (not strictly true... depends on one's perspective).

Eventually I came to a wooded part of the path, that had till now only led me through field of wheat. Interestingly, my hands tingled and my Reiki turned on. I gave a couple of trees Reiki, which I'd never done before. What a wonderful experience. It was like I was acutely aware of everything around me. I felt peaceful, complete.

I'm endlessly thankful for this experience and those like it. :-)

Today I'm thankful for:

  1. Getting the recycling bin out on time despite having a longer lie in than intended.
  2. having a longer lie in :-)
  3. Nessa (one of our newer cats) who is usually quite shy wanted some fuss today which was lovely.
  4. Spike (another of our cats) came to snuggle up with me in the bed.
  5. Cat purrs- they make my heart melt.

A peaceful passing

Today I'm thankful that my friend's dad passed over peacefully surrounded by people who loved him. My thoughts are with my friend today.

5 things

I'm starting today with some gratitude. 5 things that I'm thankful for yesterday:
  1. Beautifully sunny weather.
  2. The time to enjoy the beautifully sunny weather we had.
  3. Still being able to explore unexplored places nearby.
  4. Getting rid of lots of clutter that I'd placed far too much importance in.
  5. Discovering two of our cats that previously didn't really get on laid quite happily together.

Wednesday, 27 June 2012

Today has felt like a lovely long day. I went for a walk down a public footpath I'd never been down before, I don't think many people venture down their it felt kind of forgotten. There was a butterfly or moth that I'd never seen before; it was grey with bright red flecks on the outer edge of it's wings.

On my way back I stumbled into a little closing with some beautiful flowers in it.

It was really quiet and a nice way to get a little more active on a day off.

How my day suddenly freed up

That wonderful feeling when the parcel is picked up early so the day that you thought you'd lost is yours again :-) I'm off for a walk in a bit

5 things I'm thankful for today

So 5 things I'm thankful for today:
  1. I got to work and was really productive before the day even began.
  2. A few people noticed I'd lost a bit of excess weight today which was motivating.
  3. This afternoon went quickly, much quicker than Tuesdays normally do.
  4. I had a lovely conversation with a like minded soul at lunchtime.
  5. It felt like Summer today. The grey clouds parted and the sun shone.

A brief introduction

I need to be more positive. To appreciate all the wonderful things that are part of my life. I've been inspired by my rediscovery of the law of attraction and know if I want fantastic things to happen in my life I need to recognise all the fantastic things that are already there! I was going to get a notepad and write things there. Then it occurred to me that if I create a blog I'd be expressing my gratitude publicly sending out positive thoughts into the world. I'd also be saving part of a tree and I'd eventually lose the notepad (it's a gift). :-)
